Bitter Hand, favored by his light weight and running to his best form, moved up steadily from a slow beginning, came with a grand burst of speed In the stretch and won going away. Gay Adelaide forced a fast pace, but tired near the end. Gallant was a sharp factor for the entire trip and finished gamely. Hannibal Bey swung wide on the turns and met with slight interference. Horseradish was put to too much use .in forcing the pace, raced Bullfinch into defeat in the first three-quarters, but tired from his early efforts in the final drive. Nones began slowly and was taken unnecessarily wide into the stretch, then came on with a rush. Jerry Lynch ran a good race. Lucky Charm tired. The Southerner probably sulked and ran a bad race. Columbia Girl forced a fast pace from the start and was directly responsible for Lurettas defeat, but the effort told In the final drive, although she hung on gamely. Luretta showed good early speed, but was thoroughly beaten at the head of the stretch and Sewells finish was a weak one. Novena ran a good race.
