Soundly displayed her usual great speed, but tired in the closing drive. Classis was lucky and In forward contention throughout. Glendennlng was never really dangerous. Velna got away -,poorly. My Order was on the inside and quickly shuttled to the rear, hut closed a big gap. Ethel Barrymore was knocked to the rear at the start anil had no chance. Tom Roberts, a slow beginner, steadily improved his position and got np in the last stride for second place. SIcyon, after strenuous pursuit of the winner, tired at the end and ran a surprisingly good race. Queen Rec finished fast, but with a belated rush. Hugh McGowan, away flatfooted on the inside and pocketed on the first turn, closed a tremendous gap iu the last six furlongs. Jolly Witch, witli clear sailing, finished fast and gaining. Yellowstone worked through a rough journey and finished close up, running a good race. Birdie P. suffered at the start and on the first turn. Christine A. ran in forward and game contention throughout. HI Col Cap. after trailing iu the early running, finished with a rush. Governor Davis went well. Critical tired after going a fast, half and is strictly a mudlark. Pronta showed plenty of early speed, but unaccountably failed to stay. Throw out her race. Overweights Pronta, 1 pound.
