Oronte, fresh and good and favored by the going, forced the pace and stood the closing drive gamely. The Captain steadily improved his nosltion and was going like a shot at the end. Start fair. Won driving; second easily. Major Tenny, from a flying start, raced into the lead on the first turn and made the early running practically undisturbed, stealing a winning lead on the far turn and just lasted the journey. Harbor, held at the post, knocked the assistant starter down in breaking loose and got quickly Into forward contention, not quite getting up at the end of a remarkably game race. Arrah Gowan also suffered at the start, held a good position through the last six furlongs, but did not run his race. Ray, flatfooted at the start, closed a big gap. Red Light, palpably handicapped by the going, tired after going a prominent six furlongs. Briers is better in sticky mud. Scratched 00204 Haven Run, 107; 00211 Royal Red, 103 59785 Dora I., 101.
