RICH WINDSOR AND FORT ERIE STAKES. The Canadian Derby, Frontier Stakes and Other Well Known Fixtures to Close March 5. The Highland Park Club, under the auspices of which racing will be conducted this year at Windsor and Fort Erie, has announced a series of stakes for the two meetings sufficiently valuable to allure entries In abundance. The Windsor offering is in effect that of last year for Highland Park with the addition of one more stake, the Windsor Selling Stakes and Essex Stakes, being substituted for the Highland Park Stakes and Michigan Stakes of last year and the Ontario being a new steeplechase fixture. The Fort Erie program lias been enriched by the addition of the Genessee Hotel Handicap at a mile and the Hotel LaFayette Stakes, at three-quarters for two-year-olds. All around these stake proposals will be favorably received by owners and trainers, the lists being: TO BE RUN AT WINDSOR. The Frontier Stakes, three-year-olds, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-S miles. The Windsor Stakes, three-year-olds and over, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-10 miles. The Essex Stakes, two-year-olds and over, 81,500 guaranteed; 3-4 mile. The Royal Oak Farm Stakes, two-year-olds, S1.500 guaranteed; -4 1-2 furlongs. The Detroit Stakes, two-year-olds, ,500 guaranteed; 5-8 mile. The International Steeplechase, ,200 guaranteed: full course. The Ontario Steeplechase, ,000 guaranteed; short course. TO BE RUN AT FORT ERIE. The Canadian Derby, three-year-olds, ,000 guaranteed; 1 1-4 miles. The Genessee Hotel Handicap, three-year-olds. ,500 guaranteed; 1 mile. The Canadian Sportsman Handicap, three-year-olds and over, ,500 guaranteed: 1 1-10 miles. The Buffalo Stakes, three-year-olds and upward. ,500 guaranteed; 1 mile. The Fort Erie Stakes, three-year-olds and over: ,500 guaranteed; 7-8 mile. The Iroquois Hotel Handicap, two-year-olds, ,500 guaranteed; 5 1-2 furlongs. The Hamilton Stakes, two-year-olds, ,500 guaranteed; 5-8 mile. The Hotel La Fayette Stakes, two-year-olds, ,500 guaranteed; 3-4 mile. The Grand Canadian Steeplechase, ,200 guaranteed; full course. Entries to all of the foregoing events will close at midnight of Monday, March 5. 1900. The Windsor meeting will begin June 10 and end July 7. Fort Erie racing commences July 17 and terminates Aiigut 25. Entry blanks for the stakes named are ready for applicants at this office.
