Won driving; second easily. Annie Berry was best in the going, wore down Fair Calypso after being straightened out for home, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall oft Mathis. The latter closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Fair Calypso showed the most early speed, but tired as if a bit short. Little Rose, after lieing prominent to the .stretch, tired when called on. Wistful was running well when she was sharply cut off on the far turn by Fair Calypso, after which she appeared to sulk and was eased up. Scratched 01833 Potrero Grande, 110; 59403 Bradwarlin, 115. Bonvlac broke well and quickly opened a winning lead, then tried to run out in the stretch and lost ground, but was able to stall off Voting at the end. The latter closed a big gap and was coming fast in the final sixteenth. Ozanne lost ground when turning into the stretch, but was iteaten at the time. Bon Mot ran close to the leaders for three-quarters and, easily passing La Pucclle in the stretch, won in a common canter. La Pucelle ran well, but was forced to the front at the half and, tiring in the gohn?, had little left when challenged. Captain Bob was outrun earlv and caught Comic Opera tiring In the stretcli. Malta, off badly, closed a big gap in the first quarter and, wearing Elksino down at the sixteenth post, was hard ridden the rest of the way and won iu the last stride. Elksino showed the most early speed and perhaps was made too much use of in setting the pace; butlran a good race and tinlshed gamely. French Empress ran a fairly good race throughout. King Pepper moved up next to the rail on the liackstretch mid passed Henry Hentrieks with ease, but had to be shaken up a bit in the stretch to withstand Rebounders rush. The latter ran to his best form and had no mishaps. -Merry George acted badly at the post, delayed the start and failed to run up to expectations, as lie had clear sailing all the way. Ogontz finished with a rush. Henrv Hentrieks forced a fast pace for the first half and quit badly. Scratched C2503 Little Red, 115. d. SIXTH RACE 1 Mile. 1:39 G 101. Exclamation, off well, dropped back on the backstretch and appeared to be hopelessly beaten, but moved up rapidly on the far turn, caught the leaders in the stretch and drew away at the end. Chamblcc forced the running after passing the half-mile post, but tired, when challenged. Dance Music ran a good race and will bear watching. Brookston showed speed, but tired as If short.
