Ida Davis, well meant today, ran In surprisingly Improved form over her last previous effort and, being energetically handled, was sent into the lead at once and won nil the way with much In reserve. Inflammable, away in a tangle, closed a good gap steadily and finished going fast. St. Noel was In close quarters in the early running and moved up well In the stretch, but tired slightly in the final drive. The Only Way had to go wide most of the way and ran a good race. Mattie Mack, away well and given a hustling ride, ran to her best form and,- quickly taking a long lead, held the others safe for the entire trip and won easing up. Spider Web, away poorly and suffering from slight interference, moved up gamely after coming wide into the stretch and finished going fast. Avendow was shuffled back soon after the start, thereby losing ground, but ktood a hard drive well and finished gamely.. Quiddity came from a long way back in the stretch and finished fast.. Josies Jewel had to overcome n lot of Interference while rounding the first turn and went wide thereafter but, moving up resolutely, wore down the leader in the final drive and outstayed him in the last few strides. Bedford showed a high order of speed and appeared a certain winner In the last furlong, but tired suddenly and will improve. Pinaud had a rough trip and had to squeeze through a narrow opening in the stretch, but. tired in the last few strides. Evie Greene, almost left and going wide all the way, was best and, with equal racing luck, would have won. Captain Bush was shuffled back on the first turn, then closed a gap and ran a good race. Matabon came fast in the last half and, if clear of Interference, would have been a dangerous contender. Bitter Brown ran a good race. Scratched C2!K3 The Mate, 104;. C2987 Tinker, 99. Colonel Jim Douglas broke fully in motion and, showing a high order, of speed, set the pace fast all the way and came away In the stretch as her rider pleased. Devout ran forwardly throughout and stood a hard drive gamely, but was not good enough to beat the winner today. Cottontown ran a good race and had no mishaps. The Englishman tired slightly after going a half. Terns Roil ran a good race and finished going fast. Huzzah, almost left, showed speed in racing into contention In the early stages, but tired after going three-quarters. Tocolaw can do much better and ran a bad race. Scratched 02990 Gus Heldorn, 104. Anna Ruskin, away running and clear of interference, showed the most speed all the way and won with much in reserve. Belle Scott, much the best, was away In a tangle and repeatedly Interfered with, came with a tremendous rush in the last furlong when clear and was unlucky to lose. Froward had no mishaps and ran a good, race. King Leopold was given a bad ride and can 4o much better. County Clerk ran a falrlv good race-and finished well. Dod Anderson, away forwardly and well ridden, was restrained in the early stages, came fast when called on in the stretch and, wearing down the leaders lu the final furlong, came away with plenty in reserve. Woodlands ran a good race and seemed a certain winner in the Inst furlong, but tired near the end. Butinskic had. no mishaps, showed speed, but tired fast after going a half and was lucky to last long enough to save-third place. Lochgoil closed a big gap from a poor beginning and finished going fast. Hllona was hi close-quarters while going down. the backstretch and had to be taken back repeatedly. Erla Lee ran a fairly good race from a bad send-off. The last four at the start were practlcallv left. Monochprd tired badlr in the closing strides after being prominent most of the way. Orient ran a fairly good race. Gilpin ran poorly, but may improve. Iole tired fast after going three-quarters.
