Monfort, from a forward position on the inside, challenged Frank Lord in the stretch and, despite lioring out, outstayed the latter decisively in a long closing struggle. Frank Lord, from a flying start, set the pace to the last quarter, where he succumbed after meeting interference. Black Mate closed up like a cyclone In the Tast quarter. Miss Strome also finished fast from the rear. Blue Bottle ran forwardly throughout. Judge Davey, away poorly, closed a big gap. Kilter finished well up. Glorifier maintained a good position from the start, closed up rapidly In the last half and caught and passed the tiring leader right at the end. Heaslip was injudiciously raced into a very long lead and appeared like spread-eagling his opponents, but tired suddenly in the final sixteenth. Single Shot, nearly left, closed an immense gap while running on the extreme outside throughout and got up for third place in the last stride. Moonshine was speedy, but tired after hot pursuit of the pacemaker. Fine Cloth showed brilliant speed for the first out this year and was palpably short. Wrenne was going fast at the end. Ethon, rtiut off at the start, forced to the outside and frequently shut off, passed the leaders as if they were anchored when straightened for home and was much the best. Misgivings, from a flying start, practically forced the pace from the start ami succumbed quickly to the winner, but beat the others off for second place. Belcast loomed up well midway of the stretch, but tired right at the end. Llunepee finished fast and Is worth watching. Royal Breeze unexpectedly failed to stay after getting up to the leaders on the last turn. Allowinaise also failed to stay after showing superior early speed, but is best in mud. Indulged the early leaders for seven furlongs, then went to the front and won cantering. Sahara made the running undisturbed for nearly seven furlongs and it enabled lief to stny the journey, but she improved at that. Lotowanna was never able to get within menacing distance of the leaders and finished a tiring third and very lame. Homoselle showed speed for six furlongs and then retired. Angler trailed closely in the wake of the pacemaker for a mile and a quarter and, when Glenecho went wide on the last turn, flashed into the lead and won off by himself, showing remarkable improvement. Glenecho. slightly tore, was at great disadvantage in making the pace and, after being alternately sent along and pulled up, was finally outsprinted through the last quarter. Huntington ran iike a stayer after being well up from the start and finished with an unexpected rush at the end. Lancastrian ran like a sulker, was skillfully nursed in the early running, moved up gradually in the last half and finished fast, but was unable to get up. Leila loomed up well at the end of a mile and then retired. Yorkshire Lad ran In close pursuit of the leaders ami was a keen contender for a mile and a quarter, then quit. Jennie McCabe ran poorly.
