Larone, lucky for the entire trip and well ridden, put up a good performance and, standing a hard drive gamely, got up in the final sixteenth and won drawing clear. Lady March forced a fast pace and took what appeareil a winning lead on the stretch turn, but tired suddenly in the final drive. Dr. Turner, much the best, was practically left, closed a tremendous gap and Dnislled going fast and would have won off with equal racing luck. Sam Allen ran a fairly good race. Tom Crowe, showing sudden improvement and much speed, went to the front at once and won all the way. Proteus was shuttled back soon after the start and had to go wide into the stretch, but finished going fast and outgamed Happy Jack II. in the final drive. The latter saved ground by going close to the rail all the way and ran a good race. Plnaud, repeatedly Interfered with, ran a dull race and can do much better. Scotch Dance was a prominent factor ail the way and Is wortli remembering. Maverick showed speed in the first half. Scratched G3202 Gauze, 100. Old nonesty tired after going a half, but came again and was goln" fast at the end. Froward was in the worst going all the way and, with better handling, might have won Mattle Mack was speedy, lint quit badly in the last quarter. The Minks, outrun in the early stages, came fast through the stretch and was going well at the end. Colonel Jim Douglas ran a good race under his heavy impost. Bellindlan finished "oin" fast from .1 slow beginning. The Englishman quit suddenly after going a half and can do much better Intense ran a fairly good race. Longbright ran a good race and was a game contender throughout. Little Elkln, much the best, would have won off by himself with stronger handling, but Heffernan is too small to do him justice.
