Gallant Dan was always In close pursuit of the winner and finished very gamely on the inside in an extra good effort. Anna May, from a good start on the Inside, maintained an unexpectedly forward position in the early running and finished tiring in a hard drive. Knight of Ivanhoe. from a slow leginiiing, but away Hying, managed to bold a good position from the start, but was shuilled back on the last turn, elosing up with a swift rush at the end. Eudora came from a long way back in the last quarter and finished fast. El Capitan, knocked to the rear at the start, closed up considerable ground. Scratched 03489 Zebedee, 102. Dolly Spanker outclassed the others, was reserved under a pull for the first, half and. when sent on, raced swiftly into a long lead, coming home alone. Old Faithful was badly bandied and taker back from first position to last In a quarter, then came with a cyclonic, but belated, rush through the last three furlongs, running a superior class race. Rose of Gold improved her position steadily and finished a fast going third. Right Royal was short. Injudiciously made the early running, was shuilled back on the far turn unci then came fast again with a late move, was easily third best and is very good. liryan, pal-pablv short, ran a line race for six furlongs and will do to watch. Royal Breeze, seriously pocketed on the last turn, came with a belated rush. Fantastic ran a fine race, finishing fast. J. C. Core got away very badly and ran on the extreme outside. Okenite again failed to stay after running up in front with the favorite for a half mile. Botanist got away poorly. Eddie Ware may have been short. Rams Hum, luckily and skillfully placed from the start, was reserved within striking distance of the leaders for a mile and made good with a rush in the last quarter run when facing a strong wind. Aon Tromp broke slowly and raced around the others, moved up like a Hash on the far turn into close attendance on the pacemaker and appeared all over the winner, but failed in the closing drive. Bedouiu, badly shut off and knocked to the rear on the first turn, was forced to go around on the outside and. coming with a belated rush at the end may have been best. Cederstrome, from an Inside position, boat the others away and set a stiff pace for a mile before he tired and Is a much Improved horse. Rlandy held on surprisingly well for a mile and an eighth, racing prominently for that distance. Eugenia Burcb. was unable to raise a respectable gallop. Colonial Girl also retired after going live furlongs. Lancastrian, from the start, was unable to raise a respectable gallop. AVoodsman only lasted for a mile of forward contention, then dropped out of it. Priority was prominent for a mile and a half.
