BUTTE RACEGOERS WANT BETTER COLORS. "There is some talk of taking up a subscription for the horsemen to buy them new colors," says the Bntte Montana Miner. "Some of the jackets and caps are as near what they are supposed to be as day is to night, while In many cases they fail utterly to correspond with the program or the program with the colors. Across the tracks the spectator has to know every horse well to be able to pick them out. A dirty white goes for lemon and a faded bine for royal purple. Pink and red are handled without regard for the recognized color system, and take it all in all, it is a mixed up mess when the horses go to the post very far away from the stand."
