Spnny allowed considerable improvement over his Latonia form and stood a hard drive wltlrrare giiiueiims, getting .rip in the final, drive for third place. Marvel-, P. helped to force the early pace and showed Improvement. Affinity had no mishaps. Gracchus swerved all over the track hi the final drive and can do much-better. There was a bad jam at the half-mile ground, Fullman, Bliguin and Selfish, forward contenders, going down. Harmakis, also running to his best form and favored by good racing luck, saved ground on the stretch turn and, gaining steadily, forced the winner to a momentary, hard drive, but could never overhaul him. Phalanx set the pace steadily for three-quarters and tired, but ran a good race. The Englishman suffered from much Interference anil, closing a big gap, was going fast at the end.
