Broadcloth, outbroke the others, but was taken back and saved from the fast early pace set by Toots Mook, then came fast and gamely In the stretch run and got up In the last stride. Toots Mook set a terrific pace and finished resolutely, but tired when Broadcloth challenged. Garrett Wilson was outrun for the first half, but finished fast and was wearing the leaders down at the end. Eminola ran well. Chippewa ran a fast half and retired. Charlie Gilbert broke from the extreme outside and began slowly, was forced to work his way tip on the outside, but hung on gamely under punishment and just managed to last long enough to stall off Charlie Ward. The latter finished fast, was wearing the winner down and would have heat en him In a few mere strides. Lucy Marie closed a big gap after being crowded back at the start. Boola set a fast pace for a half mile and then retired, failing to run to her true form. Ben Stille showed speed. Governor Orman wore Blue Coat down on the turn into the stretch and, finishing fast, drew away under punishment in the ast sixteenth. Blue Coat began quickly and set a fast pace, but his weight told on him in the final drive and he tired. Nattie Bumppo saved ground all the way, closed up again in the last furlong and finished gamely under punishment. Jack Adams ran three furlongs at top speed while going to the post and ran a good race. Canajoharie ran fairly well only. Stonebrook showed speed and had a rough trtp. Oleasa, off well, raced forwardly throughout and outstayed Baby Willie in the final drive. The latter came fast when straightened out for the final run,but tired under punishment at the end. The latter began slowly, but closed a big gap and finislted with a rush. Oratorian was always a contender, but tired when it came to the final drive. Australina and Cambridge were crowded back on the first turn. Reservation was left and, besides having no chance, appeared to sulk all the way. Scratched 64855 Cobmosa, 07.
