ZIENAP RUNS EAST MILE. SCHULTES FILLY WINS THE HUNTER HANDICAP AT BELMONT IN 1:38 4-5. Belle of requests Splendid Performance Brookdalo Nymph Unfit Slow Time on the Straight-away Weather Is Bitter Cold. New York, October 11. There was a touch of winter in the air today and racing at Belmont Park was conducted under conditions that called for fur coats and mufflers. The mercury hovered around the freezing point, but a great crowd of enthusiasts, the reclusive set predominating, was on hand to witness the running of a splendid card of sis races. Races on the straightaway were run in very slow time today, owing to the thirty mile an hour gale that blew up the stretch. With the wind at her back on the circular course, Zienap was able to get a fast clip and there was general surprise expressed when the time. 1:38 for the mile was hung out. W. F.
