Refined, away well and given a good ride, forced the pace throughout and .finished with plenty- In reserve. Caper, badly handled and taken wide mewt of the way, closed a big gap In the race through the stretch and got up in the final stride for second olace. Alyth moved up gamely after going a quarter and, saving much ground when turning into the stretch, lasted long enough to earn third place. Charley Ward, badly ridden and suffering from interference, was unlucky to lose second place, closed a big-gap in the Btretcu and was going fastest at the end. Lady Jocelyn was well handled, fenced well and was always in the first flight and, after taking the lead In the stretch, won well in hand. Frank Mc trailed the others far back for the first round of the field, then moved up fast and, dashing Into the lead, appeared the winner, hut tired after going-over the stretch hurdle. Plea fenced well, bad no mishaps and was lucky to finish third. Scops showed improved form and fenced well, but blundered at the niith jump, almost unseating his rider and-the mishap cost him third place, if not the race. Manzanos rider was cautioned while going to the post, but the horse itrnn-bled when approaching the first jump and unseated Rice. Wabash bolted at the first jump. Squanderer fell at the water jump. Joe Coyne propped at the start, but closed a big gap In the first quarter and was a close contender, but tired badly in the stretch from his effort. Jim Beattie went fairly well. Moccasin Maid began slowly and finished fast. Knowledge bled after going three-quarters and was beaten off.
