Botanist is a good colt, went to the front at once and, showing the most speed,, handled his wight in good style nnd won well in hand. Tudor began slowly, but went up fast and was a sharp contender to the homestretch, but tired. Baringo can do much better, but ran as if short and the race should improve her. Black Chalk displayed speed and, in slower company, should be dangerous. Garters showed early speed, but quit badly. Judge White, easily the best of an inferior field, led nearly all the way and was never in trouble. Herman Johnson was under a drive all of the last quarter, but had no chance with the winner at the weights. Lawsonian ran a fairly good race, but at the end was all out and doing his best to beat Oak Leaf. The latter got away badly and closed a big gap. Lackey bled. Scratched 65370s Chalfonte, 111. Euripides ran a good race and was best, but in getting away from the post, crossed the majority of the others and on the first turn crowded Roly Poly, throwing Coaue. The latter claimed foul and the stewards allowed it. Away ran in a good position all the way, finished fast and was best of the Others. Donna showed early speed, but tired and found the route too far. Grevilla showed improvement. Sonoma Belle ran a bad race and can do much better. Scratched 65370 Thistle Do, 102; G5370 Ivanhoe, 99.
