TRAINER DUKE AT HOME. New York, November C. William Duke, trainer for W. K. Vanderbllt, arrived here Sunday morning on the steamer St. Paul from Southampton. He has had entire charge of Mr. Vanderbilts French stable and has leen responsible for placing the American millionaire at the head of winning owners in France. Maintonon, which won the Autumn Grand Prix lor Mr. Vanderbllt and who came near making a French record, with a total winning ot 6S,240, was handled by Duke. Before taking charge of Mr. Vanderbilts horses Duke was a partner of Enoch Wishard, so that he has been well schooled in nil the secrets of liorse training.
