Goldproof ran in behind the pacemaker until making the turn for home, where lie moved up resolutely, caught Black Art in the fun through the stretch and outgamed him to the finish. The latter showed superior speed, held on gariiely .arid, with riders reversed, might have won. Bert Osra had bad racing luck, was in a pocket most of the way and, when clear, came fast through ,the stretch. Sorrel Top can do much better. My Dulcle ran well to the stretch arid tired. Nedra followed the leaders closely and was much the best of the. others. Grandlta was favored by clear failing. , ran well and had .no mishaps. Emma V. showed a Hash of speed for a quarter, then tired. Dry Dollar made up ground through the homestretch. Tanbark and Charley Ward .ran poorly. Fay showed early speed. Gauze, knocked to Ills knees at the start, was compelled to run around on. the outside, but wove down Happy Jack IL in the run through the stretch, caught him in the last sixteenth, raced liim into defeat ami won going away. Happy Jack II. showed sudden improvement, found the track to his liking and set a fast pace for three-quarters, then tired in the final strides, but was never in any danger of losing second place. Joe Lesser finished well and outgamed Gay Minister for third place. TJie latter run well. John Garner was a forward contender early, but quit badly in the run through the stretch. Qiietui Caroline closed a bjg gap. Telepathy showed speed. The others were never serious contenders. Debar is showing steady improvement, sprinted into a winning lead in the first quaiter and led by 11 wide margin for seven furlongs, then stood a hard drive to stall off the determined challenge of Kercheval. The latter ran a good race for his first time out in a long time, finished fast and would have Won in another stride. The Clansman forced a fast pace for six furlongs, but tired when the deciding drive came and was all out at the end to stall off Dr. Leggo. The latter was cut off while rounding tha first turn and failed to. display much speed at any stage of the route. Noel and Telegrapher cah do better. Scratched G545!Auditoi-, 107.
