GOOD PROSPECTS OF THE NEW TRACK. M. J. Winn, during his brief stay in the city yesterday, said that favorable progress was being made on the contemplated new track near Pittsburg and that when the plant was completed it would compare with any in the west. "The prospects for racing in that section of the country never held out more promise anywhere," said Mr. Winn. "We have a splendid stretch of ground on which to equip a good racing plant, and we will do our utmost to give a high-class meeting, one that will attract the best horsemen to our track because of the liberal stake and purse offerings. At present we are at work in expediting the transportation facilities and have been assured that little or no Inconvenience to oar patrons will be manifest at our opening."
