LAYERS RECOUP LOSSES. 9 MISSOURI LAD AND JUGGLER THE ONLY WIN-. NING CHOICES AT NEW ORLEANS. Easterners Land Four Races Dry Dollar and Cannoq. Ball Win for Sullivan Rnbaiyat Dies of Lung: Fever. New Orleans, La., November 27. The bookmakers had an inning today and recouped a goodly portion of their losses. Outsiders scored in four of the six races, Missouri Lad and Juggler being the successful short priced horses. The card was an ordinary one, but the sport resulting, was keen and finishes in four of the races were close and exciting. The eastern contingent was active to the extent of four winners. Of these Archie Zimmer, trainer for T. D. Sullivan, took the first two with Dry Dollar at 20 to 1 and Cannon Ball, liberally supported at G to 1. Jack Sheehan parleyed 0 on the pair and cleared nearly ,000 by their victories. Pat Dnnne furnished two of the beaten favorites In Bonart and Airship. Both were ridden by Nlcol. His handling of these horses was listless and called forth unfavorable comment. He was not all at fault on, Bonart, however, as Austin, on Idalla, Interfered sharply with his mount. Austin was cautioned by. Judge Bryan. Fred Cook gave away the stand he had and bet heavily from the ground today. He averaged 3 to 2 for a ,000 commission on Missouri Lad and quit the day with a handsome profit. J. C. Milam received word from Memphis this afternoon that his colt Add, Jr., by King of Coins Century, had died from lung fever. Rubaiyat, in the E. S. Gardner string, died here last night o lung fever. Jockey Aubuchon has severed his connection with tho Capo stable and -will lu the" fnture"ride as a free lance. Jockey Dale was suspended for three days by the starter for misbehavior at the post. Jockey J. Foley was suspended for three days by the judges for foul riding. Jockey Swain will do the riding for W. A. Klrwan during the remainder of. the whiter. Steeplechase jockey Tom McHugh arrived here today from Louisville, where he has been confined in the hospital as the result of an old injury, necessitating two operations. The injury was sustained by a fall on Galba at the last Hawthorne meeting. The horse broke his neck at the time. C. It. Ellisons horses arrived this morning from. Memphis and are stabled at the Fair grounds. J. H. Baker arrived at City Park with nine horses that he shipped here font Lexington, Ky. S. S. Tracey. got In from Bennings with his stable.
