Gemniell quickly ran into .a long lead and sprcadeagled his opponents like a good one. Galvestonian maintained nearest and most persistent pursuit of the winner,and is promising. Alta Spa also ran prominently throughout and shows steady improvement. Marion Rose was sluggish in tire early stages and closed up fast in the stretch, but finished securely pocketed and should have been second. Sevenfull got away badly and apparently quit at the "end. Pellgroso, away badly, closed a big gap. AAeatherford was also away poorly. Kotosllany was shuJlled to the rear at the start. Clandestine began slowly, but steadily improved bis position and won out in the last stride of a game stretch drive. Tim Hurst ran a good race and finished gamely. Little Gregg, away badly and shutlled to the rear early, closed a big gap in the last quarter and finished with a great rush. Distributor was speedy, but probably short and tired right at the end. Dr. Sherman was going fast In the stretch. Hor-sain, nearly left, ran a fast middle half and quit. Pickaway showed earlv speed and was palpably short:. Morendo got away poorly from being held by an assistant starter, but moved up rapidly and saved ground on the first turn, overhauled the leaders on the last turn and won as his rider pleased. Dr. Shorb was always in forward pursuit of the leaders and finished a very game second. Ray Is Improving and finished with a rush. Harbor, from a llying start, made the early running, but bolted on the far turn. 1 hen came again and ran a cracking race. Cloche dOr got away badly and made up ground. Rubric, suddenlv improved with blinkers on, ran in forward contention from a bad start and finished well. Martinmas essayed to overhaul the pacemaker, but failed and tired at the end. Pontotoc established an early lead and ran lapped on the winner for. five furlongs, then tired. Gypsy King was taken up at the start and again at the half, on the last turn and In the stretch. Sir Russell is improving and about due, showed great speed and is best in mud.
