New York, January 11. — In J. B. Ilaggins brick barn on the Neck road at Sheepshead Bay there are quartered twenty twoyear-olds in the care of trainer Charles I.ittletiebl. There are twelve colta and eight fillies and they make up the beat looking; lot that the master of Elmendorf Stud has had la training hereabouts in a number of years. They were all catalogued for the sales here last June and September and twelve of them were reported to have been sold — five to E. E. Burnett, two to Newton Bennington, two to W. B. Jennings, one to John Mackey, one to G. B. Morris and one t ll. T. Oxnerd. It is not explained how these twelve got back into the Haggin establishment, but their presence there gives more color to the claims of horsemen that to guess what has been and has not been really sold at a Haggin auction is harder than solving a Chinese puzzle. The best appearing youngster in the company i3 the strapping big chestnut colt by Order — Janice. This is the first foal out of the young daughter of Midlothian. Janice was a stake w inner and a good racemare. This eoit is quartered like a four year-old and has a superb head and neck. He was knocked down September M to E. E. Burnett. Kosette. the dam of Janice. Jonquil, Gold Badge and other winners, is represented by a well turned, colt by Watercress. He stands close to sixteen hands. He went under the hammer to Newton Benningtons bid of 815,000 in June. The bay colt by Kinley Mack-Florence Brecken- ridge fills the eye wonderfully well. In conformation he has everything to recommend him. and suggests great si eed. He was knocked down to E. E. Burnett for 8250. I.a Cachuca is represented by a bay colt by Star Buby, which shows the best of racing points. Ho has a good head and neck, well turned shoulders and quarters. He is a half brother to Graceful and Luciline and was supposed to have been sold to Newton Bennington for Sl.tSlH. lascine. a mare by Indio, is represented by her first foal, a bay colt by St. Gatien. He is not up to the others in size, but has much to recommend him. He was knocked down to W. B. Jeuniuga lor 50. Drusilla, by Hampton, has a racy looking bay colt by lireenan to represent her. This one went under the hammer to F. K. Burnett for ,000. A slashing looking bay colt is that by Canopus, out of Summit. He has a luautiful head and neck, is deep through the heart, grand quarters, with his hind legs well set under him. There will be much ilisap|Hiiiitnient if he does not race with credit when thoroughly til. He was knocked down to John Mackey for Jfl.iKK. The chestnut colt by Bathampton. out of Darebelle is built on good lines, with quarters like an aged borne. He should train into a good colt. E. E. Burnett was nappaaei to have purchased him for KSM. The chestnut filly by Kinley Mack, out of Berrie-dale, is a full sister to the illfated Kinleydale and is a grand looking miss in every way. She was knocked down to E. E. Burnett for ,300. A half sister to May Hempstead, by Fresno — Lillle Hempstead, appears to lie one of the useful sort that will come to hand early. H. T. Oxnard was supposed to have purchased her for . Royal Flush HI. is represented by two fillies, one a chestnut out of Basseting. the other a chestnut out of Electricity, both of which should race with credit. The first was knocked down to G. B. Morris for 00 and the latter to W. B. Jennings for 00.
