Toro always had clear sailing, moved into a eontendiosj position from the start and, forcing a fast pace, stayed well and will improve. IJitlo Range is a growth? colt that is still green, ran well and will show improvement. Kalherine Murphy was going well it the end and gaining fast. Boll Weevil tired badly in the last sixteenth. The latter began slowly and was poorly handled, -but Closed a big gap and finished with a rush. High Boar was a distant trailer in the early stages, but came fast through the stretch. Proteus, favored by giitd racing luck, made up ground in the drive through the stretch, but bore over and impeded Request in the last sixteenth, for which he was dis pi.il-ified. Request, poorly handled, was sharply cut off at the half mile ground and steered into eJasc quarters in the stretch, was gaining well at the end and was probably best. Kittie Piatt had a rough trip and suffered from Interference. Matador showed speed, but quit badly. Retort closed a bier gap and finished resolutely. Jake Sanders blVi after going a half.
