Lyon, off forward ly, went around the leaders before they had gone a sixteenth, hung on gamely under punishment and had enough left at the end to stall off challenges from Merriinae and Aristotle. The latter broke slowly and had to work his way up on the outside on the far turn and ran a good race. Stanley Fay was bumped about when making the turn into the hoinestretcli, but finished gamely. Ora Sudduth showed speed and was eased up when she tired. Pedigree finished fast. Merriniae ran well, but tired The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Anna Smith, always the runner up, was hard ridden all of the last quarter and was wearing the winner down at the end. Chief Hayes finished gamely under a drive. Belle of Jessamine was interfered with at the start and could never get up. Couressor was lame behind when going to the post. The winner was entered for ; no bid. Johnnie Blake was inclined to loaf in the early stages and Nicol struck him a couple of times with ids v hip when making the turn into the homestretch, but drew away quickly and was only cantering at the finish. Moquette broke slowly and ran sluggishly for the first half, but wore Shindy down in the last furlong mid outstayed her in the final drive. Shindy, off fast, showed the most speed for three furlongs, flicu tired. Desideratum and Altar Boy were as good as left.
