Catherine l. in keen contention from the start, steadily improved her position, wore down the lead of Bilfil in the linal furlong and won going away. 1511111 set a fast pace, but tired in the closing strides. Wagner Jr. ran a winning race, got off badly, took the overland route and out gained Bayou Lark for third place. Lndy Elkhom showed speed, but tired in the run through the stretch. La Gloria opened a winning lead at the llrst quarter and won all the way. Kianiesha II. followed the pacemaker closely and was compelled to do her best at the end to stall off the rush of Bobs Pet. The latter, in forward contention all the way, llnished with a rush and would have been second in another stride. Royal River could never get up. Pungent was suuilied back at the start. Nat B. ran close in behind Reside for three-quarters, caught him on the turn for home, fought it out gamely all of the last sixteenth and drew away in the closing strides. Reside set the pace fast and hung on gamely, but tired in the last strides. Peter Sterling was outpaced to the stretch and came with a rush at the end when too late. Oscar T. tired after lacing Rovery into defeat. Eleanor Fay steadily improved her position and had no coutjHitiou for third place. Revery was, speedy, but quit badly when challenged. King of the Valley, much the best, was saved from the early pace, saved ground on the turns, moved up fast, raced Monterey into defeat and was going away at the end. Monterey, running to his liest form, raced Pearl Hays into early defeat, but had nothing left when challenged by the winner. Cursus ran forwardly throughout, but tired in the fmal drive. King Ellsworth closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Pleiad can do better. Pearl Hays showed speed, but failed to stay. Gracchus, in close quarters until the turn for home was reached, came through fast next to the rail and outgamod Elksino for second place. The latter showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, bat tired near the end. Webber quit as if short. Cousin Kate was knocked back and finished fast. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
