Lady Anne outbroke and outpaced the others, saved ground on the turn and won all the way, but was cxieudeil to the limit at the end. Druid maintained close pursuit of the winner throughout and was wearing her down at the end. Golden Shore, away slowly, in close quarters and outpaced for the first half, tinished likoa cyclone and was going fastest of all in a cracking effort. Barbary Belle, crowded to the rear at the start, closed a big gap. Yorkist, in close inside quarters in the early running and crowded hack In the first half, came like a shot from the rear, but had no chance. Woodwitch went very wide on the last turn and should have been closer up. Pretension was repeatedly shuflled back and never had a ihance. Herman was carried hopelessly wide on the last turn. Inuntainhlue got away badly, but dashed by the others into file lead in the first quarter and was neve; seriously menaced thereafter, winning as his rider pleased. Golf Ball held a lucky position from the start, lost ground on the last turn and was pulling up, then came again with a fast closing sprint and ran a jacking race. Gretna Green lost four lengths through interference on the backstretch, but closed up rapidly and momentarily loomed up in the stretch, but tired very badly right at the end and will improve. Smiling Tom broke Hat footed and closed an immense gap into a fast going fourth. Zethus was prominent for the first half, but was gradually forced to the rear. J. C. Core showed superior speed for ix furlongs, but failed to stay and was eased up in the last sixteenth. San Alviso was never dangerous and ran a poor race. Jim Ganney was always in nearest pursuit of the winner, finished a game second and is very promising. Long Ball ran prominently throughout and was going fast at the end. Zagg, away poorly on the outside, closed a gap, but swerved to the inside in the last furlong. Senator Barrett, si milled to the rear and a slow beginner, closed an immense gap and is very promising. Walter Miller finished fast, coming from far in the rear in the last quarter. Uialto was repeatedly crowded in the stretch and finally forced to pull up. Hartford Boy showed earlv speed. Confederate, bumped on the first turn, was waited with In the rear for half the journey, closed up rapidly on the last turn and was going very fast at the end of a grand race. Cairngorm alternated with Lord Lovat in setting the pace for a mile and loomed up in the stretch, hut tired at the end. Philander broke slowly and was rushing up on the heels of horses and pulled up repeatedly, never had a chance, but finished with a lielated rush and may have been best. Lord Lovat displayed brilliant speed for a mile and tired in the closing drive. Tokalon ran out on the first urn and was never daugerous afterwards. Yankee Girl dropped out at the end of a mile and was badly crowded. Lancastrian, running In an inside position, was frequently crowded back and finally pocketed to the last sixteenth, then failed to get up in a belated rush and was best. Palette, nearly left, trailed for a mile and a quarter and finished with a surprising rush. Go Between moved up rapidly in the middle running, but .ran Out on the last turn and was eliminated as a contender. Miss Crawford, after being reserved under a pull for over a niile, failed to stay.
