Frank Coilins, favored by good racing luck and well ridden, made the running almost throughout, hut had to do his best near the end. Principia was best, but was cut off soon after the start and given a general faulty ride and should have won. Consideration ran fairly well and was prominent most of the way. Lucy Can- had no mishaps and tired in the last quarter. Favorita was shuflled back soon after the start and failed to show much speed. Rolla was at all times badly outpaced. Lady Baldur forced the pace most of the way and stayed well in the linal drive. Running Account was away slowly on account of an assistant starterB failure to release him at the barriers rise, ran a good race and finished fast. Taunt was a prominent factor for the first three-quarters, stood the Sual drive gamely and took second place in the last stride. Crafty ran a good race and, better ridden, might have won. Nellie Racine showed superior early speed, but tired after going three-quarters. Martin was too weak to do Woolstone justice. Merlingo quit after going a half. The winner was entered for 500; no bid. Cave Adsum held second place from the start and outstayed Charlie Gilbert through the stretch. The latter, under a poor ride, was unlucky to lose second place.
