CORLISS TO BE A STEEPLECHASER. 8. C. Lyne is said to have a bright prospect for cross-country racing in Corliss, now in his training barn at the Kentucky Association course at Lexington. Corliss lias never started but once, and then on the flat and upon that occasion, though defeated,- showed great speed. He jumps gracefully and easily and lands safely without hangiug. Corliss is a well turned bay gelding by The Pepper, out of Statuette, by Quicklime, and, save one sea-ion, has had comparatively little training.
