Won in a canter; second driving; third the same. Spooner far outclassed ihe others, was reserved under a pull in close pursuit early, drew out when called on in the stretch and won cantering. Apple Toddy forged into the lead quickly and made the running on sufferance to midway of the stretch, where he readily gave way to the favorite, but finished a jiame second. Manheimer was in close attendance on the pacemaker throughout and but for being pocketed at the end might have been second. Rara Avis, inadequately ridden and shullled to the rear at the start and badly interfered with on the turn, finished with a belated rush and was second best. Bridge AViiist, away badly, closed a big gap and ran a cracking race. King Folly showed early speed, but failed in the stretch and can do better. Fort Johnson was green and practically left, was hog fat and not nearlv ready. Scratched 0970 Ren Fleet, 105; 70020 Moquette, 113. Lally, away very badly, closed an immense gap in the last half, found a lucky opening on the inside and made good finally in a game linish. Telescope, luckily and forwardly placed from the start, drew out midway of the stretch, appearing the winner, but succumbed finally and his rider may have been caught napping. Standover, well up throughout, was a fast going third and ran and finished on the extreme outside. Nagazam, after forward pursuit of the leaders, tired in the closing drive. Simple Honours sot a stiff pace for seven furlongs, then quit all over. Ted improved his position steadily and lan a good race. Bast Bnd tired badly after close and strenuous early pursuit of the leaders for six furlongs. Javanese loomed up well on the last turn. Lady Vera quit very badly. Javotte showed superior early speed in prominent pursuit of the pacemakers mid tired finally after a good race. Stylit, after nearest and strenuous early pursuit of the leaner, tired badly in the last quarter. The Wrestler, displaying superior early speed and unexpected stamina, made the running for a mile and a sixteenth before he was headed and put up an extra good effort. Rio Grande, badly ridden, was outrun for nearly a mile, but finished well and should improve. Molesey ran forwardly for seven furlongs, then dropped back slowly and is improving. Rye was reserved well ui in an inside position to the half, where he endeavored to move up, but was shouldered and carried over to the inside by Sir Iluon and finally had to pull up, then came along on the outside ami, after a sharp drive, got up and disposed of the leader in the last hundred yards and won miiniiig off. Rifleman, after close pursuit of the pacemaker, drew out with a rush in the stretch and appeared all over the winner, but succumlied finally. Penarris, away badly on the outside, closed up Hcadily and. after going wide on the turn and in the stretch, was a fast going third and easilv second best Sir Huon, away poorly, closed up fast at the half and crowded the other horses, including the favorite, ihen swerved all over the stretch, but finished close up, ran a fine race and was short. Main Chance ran forwardly in the early running, but was in close quarters on the last turn and tired finally. Bonnie Bard was going well throughout and closed up at the end. Loudoun Light, reported to lie verv fast in private trials tired after a good display of early speed. Algelone showed brilliant speed for five furlongs, then quit badly and probably was short. The same applies to Dr. Lee.
