Hans followed the leaders olo-sely to the stretch and, after being passed by Running Account, challenged the latter and at the end of a long, hard drive won drawing clear. Running Account ran a fast, game lace and finished resolutely, but tiring. Spunky was reserved close up to the stretch, then came on with a rush and easily disposed of Belphoebe for third place. The latter set the pace fast to the stretch and tired badly. Polar Star ran fairly well. Belle Strome followed Jennie Wells close up to the stretch and, after racing her into defeat, outstayed Royal Onyx in a hotly contested finish. The latter was always prominent in the running and finished fast and gamely, but could not get up. Barnsdale made up ground early, ran a good race and was a game third. Si Joseph finished well, as also did Soprano. Jennie Wells showed superior early speed, but failed 1o stay. Alsono quit. Inauguration, a fast filly, ran into a long lead at once and won all the way never fully extended. Miss Maxzoul trailed far back to the stretch, then came on witli a great rush and passed Hollow as If lie was standing still. The latter ran a fast half and tired in the stretch as if short. CVderstronie ran a good .consistent race, was reserved in close attendance on Topsy Robinson to midway of the homestretch, then challenged for the lead and finally won drawing out. Topsy Robinson set a fast pace and appeared the winner, but finally succumbed after a game struggle. At the "weights Lillle Turner 1 an an excellent race and, in a resolute finish, outsta3-ed Pretension for third place. The latter ran fairly well, but can do much better. Reipiest ran forwardly from the start and, in a game effort, finished wearing the winner down. De Reszke closed a considerable gap in the middle running and outstayed Bowling Bridge for third place. The latter finished witli a rush. Dapple Gold ran fairly well, but tired In the stretch. Penrhyn was badlv outrun and can do much better. Sutlice showed speed, but quit in the stretch. Woolstone was reserved within striking distance of the pacemakers to the stretch, then moved up fast and, after a short drive with Taunt, won going away. Taunt forged into the lead soon after the start and made the running to the stretch and was a game and fast going second. Clements was speedy and tan a good race, but tired in the final furlong. Blucklock ran fairly well and can do better. Roswell was badly outpaced. Overweights Woolstone, 1 pound.
