Marbles, much the best, dashed to the front in the first sixteenth, held sway unextended and won eased up. Biskra, off forwardly, was in prominent contention from start to finish and gamely outstayed Martha Jane for second place. The latter closed up rapidly in the early running from a rear position Into third place and. in a fast and game effort, remained there to the finish. Boema was always In the front division and a close up and fast going fourth. Queens Souvenir went well throughout. Goes Fast closed a big gap. as also did Maycella. Sandalwood moved up into third place when Goldfienr quit and put up a respectable performance, but was a distant second. Goldileur went well for a mile and a half, then tired and, blundering badly at a jnnip. was put out of commission and can do much better. Colin ran under strong restraint to the stretch, then moved into a sufficient lead and won hard held. Jim Gaffney is a promising colt, ran into the lead with a rush and set a fast pace to the stretch and, after succumbing to Colin, held the others safe in a game finish. Ben Fleet was a forward and game contender throughout, but tired in the final sixteenth of an excellent race. Masque was going well at the end. Chapultepec ran a fast half, then quit badly and ills showing was too bad to be true. Smoker was always outpaced. Scratched 70371Fair Play, 325; 7041220natassa, 112. Golf Ball ran a fast, game race and, in a hard final drive, resolutely outstayed Penarris. The latter finished fast and put up a gallant struggle for second money. Yankee Girl ran well for seven furlongs, but tired in the stretch drive when called on for more speed. Zipango ran within striking distance to the stretch turn, then rushed into a long lead, but tired in the final -sixteenth and barely lasted long enough. Jersey Lady quickly got into close and strenuous pursuit of the leaders and, in a fast final dash, almost got up to win. Prince Hampton was off well, hut was quickly slmllied back and, after a rough trip, got clear in the stretch and finished like a shot. Green -Seal showed superior speed for seven furlongs, but tired In the final drive. Molesey closed a great gap" in the last half. Lady Vera ran well to the stretch and quit. Cressina forged into the lead in the first sixteenth and, showing grand speed, held a comfortable advantage to the stretch, then drew away with a great rush and won eased up to a canter. Danoscara was outpaced in the early running, but came through the homestretch with a cyclonic rush and got up for second place in the last stride. Cablegram closed an immense gap in the last half and was a game and fast going third. Aletheuo was very speedy and followed Cressina closely to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. Saracinesca was shullled back in the middle running and coming rapidly at the finish. Chan-tilly showed speed, but failed to stay. Prejuicio ran a fast live-eighths and retired.
