LEXINGTON READY FOR THE RACES. Lexington, Ky., September 11. Jockeys will be plentiful here during the race meeting which opens Saturday. Jockeys Cherry, Griffith, Steele, Goedike, Fisher, Butler and Watson are here, while J. Lee, Hoidel, Ott, Pickens, Martin, Walsh, Fox and Swain are expected to arrive here tonight or tomorrow. Secretary W. R. Letcher is getting the race track grounds in splendid condition- for the meeting, aud It will present the prettiest appearance since the revival of racing in this city. Trainers and their charges are kept hustling to get ready for the opening day. The weather has been unfavorable for work-outs, as the track most of the time has been heavy, but nevertheless the work goes on the same as though the track was lightning fast. Secretary Letcher expects eighty horses from Latonia and forty horses from Louisville to arrive today or tomorrow. There will bo no scarcity of horses, and the prospects for a splendid meeting in every department are promising.. The State Racing Commission will meet here Saturday morning and will pass on the case of Tommy Taylor, who was suspended at Latonia last summer for his alleged suspicious ride on Barnsdale. A
