I KERCHEVAL READY FOR BUSINESS. New York, September 11. It was said that a killing had been framed with Kcrcheval, who was named as a starter in the second race at Sheeps-liead Bay last Monday. R. C. Brien, his owner, and a bunch of western operators who intended to bet on the horse gathered about his stall and waited in vain for his appearance. As lie did not show up within the required time lie was scratched, but he will go to the post in a few days aud will bear watching. The cause of his non-appearance was the failure of his owner to pay some forfeits.
