" The carpenters will be through on the grandstand in two or three days, giving ample " time for the painters to do their part. The stand will accommodate 2,000 persons, and is well situated to give a good view of the course. The steeplechase course lias been laid out for some time. It is irregular in shape and about one mile and a half around. The jumps have not yet been put in place, but superintendent Gorman, who lias charge of the construction, will make short-work of this feature. An innovation in race track construction will he disclosed by the track for fiat races being on the inside of the steeplechase course. At other courses it is just the reverse. The track for flat races is one mile in circumference, laid out on turf, and naturally docs not follow the outline of. the steeplechase course. The plant will be a pretty one of the bijou order when completed.
