Martin will ride for the balance of the season all the horses in the Schreiber stable under Herman Brandt in the east. Teter Coyne, the trainer of the stable of George J. Long, of Louisville, has fired Sir Huon and retired him for the year. The horse goes to Kentucky, may be bred to a few mares and is to be trained again next spring. According to the English papers, partnership has been registered with The English Jockey Club between Clarence H. Maekey and Charles Carroll in the Meddler Won by Waiting, colt which was reserved from the Mackay sale and shipped abroad. Trainer William Karrick has retired for the year II: K. Kuapps two-year-old Cohort, the winner of the Great American Stakes at Gravesend last spring, and Ren -Fleet, the Hen Strome colt, with which Mr. Knapp won the Waldorf Dinner Stakes at Sheeps-head Ray. The secretary of the Kentucky and Tennessee Fair Association at Guthrie, Ky., was before the State Racing Commission at Lexington on Thursday to make application for spring dates. A running meeting of four or live days will be given at Guthrie, but tlie commission informed the secretary that It would not be necessary to apply to it for dates. Thoroughbred Record.
