SANTA ANITA TRACK IS SHAPING. Los Angeles, Cal., October 14. Instead of the tempoiary grandstand which it was at iirst planned to erect at Arcadia, it has been decided to construct the great building at first hand as a permanent structure. Work has been progressing on the building for several days, and the piers of the concrete foundation are almost completed. The finishing of this foundation will lie "but a matter of a few days, and the work on the superstructure will be begun immediately afterward. Progress on the track within the last ten days has been so rapid that there is no doubt that if the materials are on hand everything will be finished up for the opening day. Ten barns, parallel to the liackstretch, with twenty stalls each, are practically completed, requiring only the finishing touches. Ten more, having a capacity of forty stalls each, back of the first row, already have the foundations laid, so that not later than the end of the month there will be stabling r6om for 600 horses.
