RESULTS OF CANADAS RACING SEASON tr . Ii by E. Decided Gajn Shown Over the Yield to p P. Owners Last Year. J. W. J. J. Last year tlie Canadian racing season covered 114 days at Toronto, Hamilton, Fort Erie and Windsor. By Teason of tlie addition of the . Montreal Jockey Clubs new track at Bine Bonnets the quite consid- s erable Increase to 140 days took place this year, with corresponding additional Rain to owners. The total money distributed last year was 13,S50, as against 20,785 in 1007, this material gain speak- tr ins well for the prosperity of the turf across the w border. It Is quite probable our northern neigh- f liors will do even better next year. The Montreal h meetings of this year were largely experimental, but were so successful it is understood the club will devise more liberal stakes in tlie future, as it cer- j. talnly should. The Canadian meetings of this year, fl number of. days respectively, races and resnlts h he were as follows: V ? S.J aJ W Tracks. S, jj ? g"2. tl : : : : ? w Toronto Spring 13 S5 S4 147 ? As is usually the case, J. K. Seagram, heads the ! list of winning owners, his horses having won just t 5 more than they did last year. Kepie, Fantastic, Charlie Gilbert and Sea a Wall all did well as money winners, but Peter Sterling, which led the Canadian horses last year, " did not achieve a place among the ten best winners, they being the following: Horses. 1st. 2d. 3d.
