No juarter, naming in much improved form with blinkers on, was in forward contention from the start, wore the leaders down in the stretch and won drawing away. Ben Strong set a fast pace in. tho early stages, but tired near I lie end. Anna Smith showed speed and had no mishaps, but quit after going a . half and barely lasted long enough to retain third place. Ilusted ran well and was gaining at the end. Bcnsonhurst was In close quarters for the first half aud put up a good performance. Lightning Conductor, after going wide most of the way, tired near the end. Hannibal Bey, a slow beginner, ran poorly and can do better. Marvel P. was crowded near the end aud almost fell. The winner was entered for 1907.sh00; no bid. Kd Kane had to overcome a lot of interference iu the early stages, but finished gamely through the .-stretch- and, wearing Firmament down, in, the last seventy yards... won. drawiug out. Firmament- was-promi- ucnt in the early stages, went into the lead on the stretch turn and appeared the winner, but was uuprc I .a red for the winners rush. Merrigo ran well and was in a jam in the last quarter. Peoria showed speed, but also suffered from interference. Uncle Tim ran well all the way. Black Dress was in close quarters in tin; last half and would have been a dangerous contender with clear sailing. Heron was ct wded several times. McAtce ran fairly well. Vansel ran poorly and quit after going a half. Complaint had scant chance with the interference he was subjected to. The winner was entered for 0Q; m bid. Scratched 71 47S Simon AVcil. 101. Slade was prominent all the way, was going to the leaders with a rush at the tenth, jump, where he blundered and lost considerable ground, but finished gamely and might have won but for his early mishap. King Esta tired fast after going one turn of the course. Class Leader ran poorlyand can do much better. Iendragon went fairly well over the first six hedges, "-then tired and fell at the stretch, hurdle. The others are poor fencers. Please, away fast, showed great speed and dashed into a long lead from the start, which she7 maintained all the way and won well in hand. C. W. Burt followed the winner closely and stood a hard drive in the sdretch gamely, but was not good enough. Ketchemikc closed a big gap from a poor beginning and wa.s going fast at the end. Balla seemed to sulk in the early stages, but finished fast. Little Osage, badly-out of form or overrated, quit after going a quarter. The others were always badly outrun. Horseradish was allowed to drop far back in the early stages, but finished gatnaly through the last quarter aud ran a good race. Javanese showed much the most early speed, but tired, after going three-quarters. Uncle Henry was gaining at the end and would have been third in a few. more strides. The others were badly outpaced.
