The Squire drew out quick I j and made the running to the end, seemed an easj- winner in the middle running, but was ridden out to beat Lawrence P. Daley at the end. Lawrence P. Daley, on the Inside and si, iitlled back and pocketed, worked through a rough journey into a fast going second, was best and put up a grand performance. Masque, suddenlj- improved and away slowlj, closed up with a rush into nearest pursuit in the last half and was a game third. Woodbine, after close attendance on the winner to the half, dropped back, but linished well. Fort Johnson, prominent for a half, tired at the end of a good race. Marster broke well, but lost bis position temporarily on the first turn, then closed up rapidly on the outside, crowded the favorite in the stretch and scored finally. Boj-al Ladj shufiled back at the half and baiilj- messed, about on the far turn, closed up rapidly in close quarters in the stretch and just failed to g"t up. AYes, nearly left, moved up with a rush on the inside, closed a tremendous gap fast and was a fast going third and much the best. Sister Frances, also virtually left, made up fifteen lengths into a fast coming fourth. Fast End. off flying, made the running for seven furlongs and then tired, but is extra good. Pretension made up considerable ground hi the last half. Crafty was shuffled to the rear curly and closed a gap. Lady Aineent showed speed. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Russell T. outbroke the others decisively and made the running by a wide gap to midway of the stretch, where he quit badly and was a lucky second. Aestabella ran forwardly all the way and finished a game third. Princess Nettle, away very badly, worked through a lough inside journey Into a fast going fourth in a cracking effort. AVork and Play steadily improved his position from an indifferent send-off. Andoche showed early speed. Cltrona closed a big early gap, but went wide and tired finally after running a good race.
