DUGAN STILL DURNELLS JOCKEY. The report that jockey E. Dugan had signed to ride for Harry Payne AAhitney has been denied by Charles E. Durncll, who has had the contract on the services of the lightweight jockey since last April, when he purchased it from Lee and Sou for .,000. Mr. Durncll says the only foundation for the report is the fact that Mr. AVhitney did ask him to name a price for Dugans contract, which Durncll did, but has not heard anything from Mr. AVhitney or trainer Rogers since. Durnell says he would not. in any event, relinquish Duganuntil after the close of racing in California, as he wants Dugan and only Dugan to ride for him.
