RYAN AFTER JACK ATKIN. New Orleans, La., December 11. Negotiations are said to be pending between Barney Schreiber, owner of the sprinter Jack, Atkin, and John J. Ryan for the sale or leasing of the horse. Schreiber is said, according to current rumor, to havd priced Jack Atkin to Ryan at 4,000, but afterwards reconsidered the, matter and finally refused to sell. Ryan, who lias been one of the most prominent plungers here since racing started at the big tracks, is now trying to lease the horse from Schreiber for a consideration of ,000. What length, of time Ryan wants Jack Atkin Is not known. It is reported that commissioner Gray, who secured jockey Gannon here last winter to ride for the Imperial Stable of Russia, will send over to Prince Libberwiskie, manager of the Imperial Stud, several other riders from here this winter if contracts can be closed on- those he wants.
