BRIGHTONS PRODUCE STAKES. The big list of stakes now offered by tho Brighton Beach Racing Association, to close January 2, embraces none that is not of tempting value to any owner, but there is one that should appeal strongly to all "breeders of thoroughbreds. This is the 0,-000 Produce Stakes of 1010. It costs but 0 to nominate a mare to this great event and when its yearling is sent into the sale ring, the fact that it is eligible to start in such a race, cannot fail to add many times 0 to its selling value. Outside of this small fee for the mare no further payment becomes due on account of the foal until the annual yearling sales take place, the obligation thereby passing to the purchaser. A number of the ltig breeders are decidedly remiss in the discharge of their obvious duty to patronize the big produce stakes of the country and it is time that they should become awake to that fact and lake up their srliare of the turfs burdens, especially since in doing so they are sure to add to the returns of thoir business.
