Dick Rose, away fast and favored by the going, showed superior speed all the way, stood the final drive gamely and just lasted long enough. Tea Leaf ran in closest pursuit from the start, finished fast and would have won in a few strides. Sainesaw came from a long way back in the last quarter and got up in time for third place. Cuernavaca, away in a tangle, was forced to go wide throughout and tired in the final sixteenth. Florldaglen, prominent for the first three furlongs, was shuffled back on the stretch turn and -then finished fast. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. La Souer, away fast and at home in the going, set a stiff pace from the start, ran away from Bounding Elk when called on and won pulling up. Bounding Elk showed superior early speed and, lucky all the way, stayed well in the final drive. Pat Ornus, away poorly, closed a big gap and was gaining slowly at the end. Ethel Carr, taken wide most of the trip and away slowly, ran a good race and would have been a sharp factor with a better send-off. Padrone ran a good race and was right there at the end. Marbles acted sourly while at the post and did not seem to be in her best form. Brown Thistle ran well. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Coltness, running to his best form, was much the best and had to be to win, was pulled up at. the start and not urged until after going a quarter, then closed a big gap and, going around the others on the Mrotch turn, came away easily at the end. Bertha E. set a fast early pace and tired after going a half, but held second place safe. Ralbert, away fast, was a forward contender to the; first turn, where Platoon .rtit him off sharply and forced him to lose much ground. Glamor closed a big gap. Platoon acted badlv at the post and showed a high order of early speed, but quit in the hist furlong. Ray Thompson suffered from slight interference in the early stages, but ran a poor race and can do much better. Shipp before going a quarter and, running into a long lead, held the others safe" in the stretch run, but was doing his best at the end. Miss Delaney, away slowly, gained steadily, although losing ground by going wide and, finishing with a rush, would have passed Angelus in a few more strides. Banridge closed a big gap in the last quarter and finished with a rush. Tartar Maid showed good form, was in close pursuit of the winner for the first half and finished gamely. Hanbridge began slowlv and suffered from interference, but ran well. Gee Whiz ran a good race from a slow beginning. E. T. Dainty Belle was well ridden and forced the pace throughout, appeared to lie going well and able to pass the leaders when called on. but had to stand a hard drive to down the suddenly improved Moitiboy. The latter moved into a long lead after going three-quarters and held on resolutely in the stretcli drive. Grenade, under a bad ride, ran a good race and was gaining at the end. Sister Polly, going wide most of the way, closed a big gap in the last half and finished with a rush. Jungle Imp ran poorly. Monucodor Showed superior sspeed for three-quarters. Terns Rod, showing improvement and well ridden, raced Grace Larsen into defeat while going the first half and held on well in the closing drive. Agile ran well, was always a close contender and finished well. Fonsoluca ran well and had no mishaps. Belleview failed to show much speed and ran below her previous good form.
