CITY PARK HAS TWO STAKE RACES. New "Orleans, La., December 23. The two stakes for the week at City Park arc the Christmas Handicap, at a mile and a sixteenth, for which weights were issued Saturday, and the Planters Stakes, at seven furlongs. Thursday. The Christmas Handicap closed with seventy-one nominations, and of these Glorifier is assigned 128 pounds. Jack Atkin is asked to pick up 127, Tokalon, 119, Juggler. 117, Lotus Eater, 110. Bight Boyal, 115, First Premium, 115, Good Luck, 115 and Old Honesty, 111. None of these is expected to face the barrier. Of those which seem likely starters, Pasadena, with 115 pounds, is top weight. Carthage, with 114, Plantland, with 112, Tileing, with 112; Lad of Langden, witli 110. Hyierion II.. with 108, Te-maceo, with 107, Zipango, with 100. Faust, with 104 and Yankee Girl, with 102, stand out as best. In the lightweight division Little Lighter, witli 100 pounds, Besterling, with OS, Lajeuncsse, with SO, and LIsterino. with SO, seem to have possible chances.
