Apache, running right back to his previous good form, followed Dew of Dawn close up to the last furlong, where lie came away and won well in hand. De.w of Dawn, away fast, showed superior early speed, but tired after going five" furlongs, then came again near the end. Severus, prominent throughout, tired slightly near the end. Rustle, away slowly and in a tangle, closed a big gap and finished gamely. Ketch-emike showed speed for a half and quit in the stretch. Maie Fletcher ran a good race and is showing steady improvement. Hans ran poorly and can do much better. Petulant will show improvement. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,200 by J. Rip was close up Ihrough the early stages, but blundered at the eighth jump; whicli probably cost him second place. Onyx II. tired fast after going over six fences. Refined ran a good race under poor riding and finished gamely. Higginbotham got away in a tangle aud can do better. Fantastic had a rough trip and will show improvement. Cock Sure can do better. Meadowbreeze was in constant trouble and failed to run to his best form. Hawkama also suffered "front interference. The winner was entered for ,500; no bid. The latter ran a good race, closed a gap and finished fast. Lajeunesse, away slowly, closed a big gap in the stretch and was going fast at the end. Gee Whiz came witli a rush through the stretch and, better ridden, would have been third. Alsatian ran well to the stretch and tired badly in the last quarter. Alma Dufour, taken wif.e throughout, moved up fast on the stretch turn and tired in the stretch drive, hut finished resolutely. Pasadena, under restraint nearly all the way, was never given a breathing spell und when he threatened to wear the loaders down on the stretch turn was taken wide and finished in behind Alma Dufour. Oberon ran a good race for him. Shining Star quit in the last quarter after showing spged. Warner Griswell retired after going three-quarters. Mil-shora will show improvement under belter riding and closed a big gap. The winner was entered for ,400; no bid.
