WHY PIMLICO DATES ARE NOT GRANTED. New York. January 14. — It was supposed at the time the Jockey Club awarded the lacing dates for clubs in this state that the application of the Maryland Jockey Tub for dates was overlooked, owing to the pressure of business relating to the amicable adjustment of dates for the New York tracks. It is no*- said that the reason for putting over the application of the Pimlico track until the next meeting of the Jockey Club, was the reported fact that the steeplechase course at Baltimore does not come an to the requirements of the Jockey-Club and the committee on inspection of steeplechase courses appointed by the stewards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, has been requested to inspect the steeplechase course at the Pimlico track and make a report thereon. No other action regarding the -granting of dates will be taken until the repeat of that committee is recohed.
