MOUNTAIN TO RETIRE FROM RIDING. N.w Orleans. La., January 21. — Jockey George Mountain has left here for Los Angeles, where he declar-.-; lie will embark in business and quit the saddle. Mountain is reported to have drawn S,iMM from a local bank just before his departure. Before leaving N.w Orleans Mountain said: "I have made up my mind not to apply for a license iu the east. I have been accused of doing almost everything on the calendar, but I defy any one to prove where I ever did anything wrong. I have relatives in California and rather than be worried sick by the people who are knocking me and the people who are on my trail for whatever they can get, I have decided to quit the business."
