NOTES OF THE TURF. James R. Keene. who has hseaj confined to his rooms at the Waldorf for several weeks with grip. is rapidly recovering and is utilizing his enforced vacation from business in selecting names for his two-year olds. Matt Byrnes. who is managing P. J. Rainey-stud at Shrewsbury. N. J., will stand Sir Wilfred free to mares which have produced winners. Gillette and Proiita are the l est of the half dozen males in the Kainey stud. William Date, trainer of W. K. V.indcrbilfs French stable, who has been vi-iting iu this country for the past month, had planned to sail for Palis -Tuesday, but the death of a relative caused him to UUStpSsm Us de pOltate for several weeks.
