Red Leaf drew out when beginning the last mile and set the pace to midway of the stretch and succumbed in the final strides of a game effort. Janeta fell back steadily in the first six furlongs, then closed a big gap with a belated rush. Miss Rillie trailed in" the rear early and made up proud rapidly in the last half. Graphite was a forward contender for a mile and a quarter, but quit la the closing drive. Peter Ste ling, palpably unfit, went well for a mile, then dropped out.
