Y., to this city by Grant Bnsjk Browne January 1. will not be held next Tuesday as advertised by agent iriisstead of the Adams Express Company, under an order from the United States court for the southern district of New York. Thomas F. Kelley, editor of the Thoroughbred Ree-| ord, acting for Mr. Brown, paid the disputed bill of the Wells-Fargo Express Company today and that settled the matter. The amount was some 00. The stallions and mares will remain at Foster Helms Grassmere Farm, all except Bohemian Glass, the six-year-old son of Isinglass — Lady Blake, which was sold a day or two ago to William Steele to go into the stud at Horse Haven Farm. The first foal of the season by Bohemian Class is a chestnut filly out of Sublimity, by The Batd. The mare was bred back to Bohemian Glass. Another foal for Mr. Brown is a bay filly by Elkhorn — Squabble, by Discord. Squabble was bred to Plaudit. A telegram from Dr. Joseph Bryan at Mexico City today brings news of improvement in the condition of Hal P. Hcadley. and says there is a probability that he will be sufficiently recovered within a week lo make tlie journey home. There are two foals by Meddler at Clarence II. Mackays Kingston Stud, a bay colt out of Becky Sharp, and a bay filly out of Manzana. The latter is a half-sister to Manchester, which Joe Hawkins is racing at Oakland. C. L. Harrison has a half-sister to Alfred Noble at Howard Darnabys farm. She is a bay filly by Broomstick — Ethel Pace. + The foals of the past week at James R.
