MORRIS TWO-YEAR-OLDS NAMED. Lexington. Ky., February 24. — Dan T. Morris, the Bourbon County horseman, who developed and sold to Barmy Drey fuss and Alec Labold the g.iod» filly. Chnlita, winner of the Cincinnati Trophy last spring, has claimed names as follows for seven two-year olds in his barn at the Kentucky Association course: Atlia. eh. f, by Star Shoot — Hindoo Rose, by Hindoo. Bridgy, b. g, by Bridgewater— Logic, by Logic. Oespotoway, ch. c. by Alloway — Despenia, by King Alfonso. Ingoda. b. c, by Ingoldsby — Ilifaluliu. by Teuton. Ltiray. br. c, by Kiuhy Mack — Merry Order, by Order. Nostoc, ch. g, by Star Shoot — fold Wave, by Hindoo. Tithonogen, br. c. by Tithoniis— Geneva B., by Ksher. These names are well chos.-n. Nostoc is a fresh water seaweed, which lakes sometimes the shape of a star, formiug greenish masses in fresh water ami on stones in damp places. Ingoda is the name of a river in Siberia. Tithonogen. while something of a combination of MMM of the sire and the dam. has a meaning Inasmuch as the definition of tithonic is of or pertaining to rays of light and gen is the equivalent of producing. Despoto is the first portion of the name of a chain of mountains in Turkey and the word way is added, making the name Despotoway suggestive of the names of the dam and sire. Luiay was suggested by the Caverns of Luray. Atlia is the first name of a pretty little girl who lives near the I.atonia race track. Desp nia. the dam of Despotoway. was foaled in 1ss4 and this is her fourteenth foal. The best of her produce were Desperado, Kassala, Handrail. Favorine, Francisca and lk-stroy. The latter won many races on th • outlaw courses and foaled the winners Mayme Smith and Lord Aintree. Nostoc is a half brother to Knight of Ivanhoc. Tithonogen is a full brother to Brightly. Ingoda is a full brother to Blon.ly. The dams of the others have not been repr.sentcd ou the turf.
